Confirmed from Altadena Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Altadena Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (31 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

This park recently added a walking trail that is ~ .3 miles long and connects to the trail behind Lifetime Fitness. The park borders a small creek. See the park sign picture for rules and hours.

★★★★★ — Don , Apr 2022

Amazing park and treasure for our neighborhood! Enjoy the natural setting with a beautiful babbling creek. There is a fantastic natural trail that adjoins another trail behind LifeTime Fitness.

★★★★★ — Rachel , Sep 2020

I love Altadena Park. It has great scenery and lots of features. There's plenty of parking. I go for the walking trail, which can be a mix of the loop at the park, the nature trail across the street through the woods, coming in front of Lifetime and circling back around to the park.

★★★★★ — Felicia , May 2024

This is a very nice, simple, clean park. It felt safe. The creek running next to the park is a very nice. I didn’t see a playground there but there is a nice trail that follows the creek for awhile.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“It's a nice area to bring dogs or observe nice houses and is within walking distance of a Publix and a few casual restaurants.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
