Confirmed from Aransas Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Preserve with paths and a pond home to ducks and other birds, plus an observation deck.
What runners say about Aransas Woods
This a great place to explore if you enjoy nature. Lots of birds, the trail is very wild. You will see tracks and homes to lots of animals. No doubt snakes and giant spiders live here but also tortoises. We saw some heavy tracks which I believe to belong to an alligator.
A little heaven where you can enjoy the lovely sound of birds, 🐦 it is so peaceful and joyful. I had a wonderful time for being my first time. I will definitely recommend it 👌. It could be much better if the trails were more clean, to make it easier to walk through.
It was a little too mucky and muddy on the trails to continue on when we were here unfortunately so keep that in mind when choosing to come. Be on the lookout for the pullout because it comes up fast!
What a refreshing natural area of grasses, trees, plants, water, huge trees and birds! To the right it’s a hike to the back of the property & ponds and is mostly out in the open. To the left are nicely cut trails clearly marked. Dense brush and trees create a different environment with trees canopying there trails.
