Confirmed from Goose Island State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Abundant recreational activities on 320 acres of marsh & prairie, with a tree dating 1,000+ years.
What runners say about Goose Island State Park
“It’s a well maintained State Park and you do not a fishing license to cast from the pier.”
“The combination of birdlife, coastal breezes, and scenic landscapes makes this park an ideal destination for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to unwind outdoors.”
I visited this park recently, and I’d say it’s a great spot for relaxing and especially for RV stays. If you have an RV, this is perfect — they have camping spots that face the water. However, if you’re into hiking, it doesn’t offer much. Walking along the shore and around the fishing areas was very pleasant, though.
Goose Island State Park My visit to Goose Island State Park was the perfect blend of coastal serenity and natural excitement. From the peaceful shoreline views to the vibrant wildlife that calls this area home, every moment felt connected to the beauty of the Texas coast.
If you have the opportunity to visit and stay. . . You should. The park has numerous trails, lots of dear, plenty of fishing spots and spots to hook up your travel trailer. Every area is so clean, big and open areas. The restrooms are clean! Staff that we came across were all very nice.
Very clean and well maintained park. We stayed at both the baysites and wooded area, we hiked, fished and road ebikes. Really great park.
Trail conditions & character
“This is a beautiful state park with private camp sites amongst the trees, open camp sites butted up to the bay, and plenty of space to walk and ride bikes.”
“Overall I will definitely stay here again but probably in the more wooded camping area.”
“The only issues were we came on a monday, and they hadn't gotten to the bathrooms.”
“In the early 1930's, beach roads " were paved with crushed oyster shells.”
