The trails were well marked. It was an overall easy trail to hike, but of course, by the end, we were tired. Very beautiful. Only downside for me was you can hear the traffic pretty well as it's close to the roads.
Off of route 66/ old las vegas highway and near to the Interstate. Close proximity of Harry's Road house, Bourbon Grill lies Arroyo Hondo and thus Arroyo Hondos open space... With easy trails and several loop trails shows views of Cerillos hills and Jemez as well as the countryside below.
We love this trail. The change in elevation is just enough to give a good workout, there are options to make a hike shorter or longer, and the views are beautiful. Parking by the trail head has only 4 spots, which are more available after 11am. Abundant parking is available at St John's, about .
Reports of aggressive coyotes on the part of the trail farthest from the trailheads, closer to the city. Otherwise it's a great smaller trail system for walking dogs (on leashes, please), mountain biking, running or relaxing strolls. Scope it out on the alltrails app. 😉
