Confirmed from Ashokan Rail Trail- Woodstock Dike Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Thank you for opening this great rail trail. Beautiful scenery, nice information signs, great parking lot. Trail was well done, rolled crushed stone. Great for walking or biking. Cant wait to xcountry ski. Lots of benches to take a break. This is a great trail to country ski.

10.18.24 Our 1st time here & as others have said, big parking area, and 3 porta potties at the end of the lot. Once you park, we took trail to the right, and it was around 22 total miles round trip. The trail is great for walking, running, or biking as it's crushed stone and dirt and compacted really well.

This is a very relaxing and scenic walking trail. It is ideal for a family to enjoy nature. The main route is very accessible and pedestrian-friendly with good paved areas. It is not too far from the Hudson River Walking Bridge if you happen to be in the area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
