Confirmed from Baseline Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This hiking & biking area with disc golf, a picnic pavilion & a playground allows leashed dogs.
What runners say about Baseline Road Trailhead
“Before that I'd have said 5 stars for clean bathrooms, nice multi purpose trails and a large playground area for kids.”
“Gorgeous hike, wish you didn't hear the heavy road traffic, but that's asking too much for an over-developing Ocala.”
“Great place to walk, ride or run and it connects to some other trails”
“Most of the areas are treelined so you're out of the direct sun.”
“Park has a well marked 5 km loop trail and several other trail options.”
I came here to host a demo run. I did a 11 miles and it was great. The temperature was perfect and there were almost no mosquitoes out. There are clean toilets and a kids playground at the parking lot. If you choose to run/walk the pathed trail, it’s very well marked. They even have a start/finish line for a 5K rout.
I've been skating, hiking, and biking here since those pine trees were seedlings! I also remember when the gopher tortoises were relocated there...wonderful addition. A great place to clear your head and commune with nature! Thanks to all those who maintain this park! 😊
Love the variety of trails here, l usually use the "dirt and trees route" but for those who choose pavement its great as well for strollers and bikes! Well marked as well!
Beware the nature trails are not marked clearly as the 1 mile trail is actually 5 miles, unless we read it wrong. Sadly half our family got lost out there till after dark and had to be lead out by sheriff & helicopter.
Trail conditions & character
“Wide, paved trail is excellent for biking, jogging, rollerblading or walking.”
“Before that I'd have said 5 stars for clean bathrooms, nice multi purpose trails and a large playground area for kids.”
“Owners with antisocial or unruly dogs seem to have an awareness of how this can adversely affect others and move their critters away from trails.”
“There are also some cutoff paths thru the wooded portions of the area, but these are not contiguous and are short.”
“Gorgeous hike, wish you didn't hear the heavy road traffic, but that's asking too much for an over-developing Ocala.”
“I went the Baseline Road Trailhead about 2 months ago and road around on my Ebike and had a great time!”
“Park has a well marked 5 km loop trail and several other trail options.”
“Must have seen 100 piles of fresh dog feces alongside and even on the trail in a single five mile loop.”
