Confirmed from Bauer Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Lovely short walk wooden decking all the way which makes the trail easy to follow and access for all ages. Peaceful place to walk. Small car park. Dog friendly.

As a lifelong lover and connoisseur of Capital District swamplands, I find this place a treasure indeed. Never mind those who use the term swamp as a derogatory metaphor; its literal meaning as forested wetland denotes something wonderful.

A short walk through a wooded area in Colonie. There's a wooden boardwalk of sorts, making it an easy walk for people of all ages. There's a second parking lot down the road, a bit hard to find, but rarely is the main lot filled. Don't bring your bike here.

Lovely little stroll in the HEART of Colonie...it's quite peaceful, it quote literally I believe just simply goes in a sort of loop around a wooded area, however there are a few additional entrances you could come from, though when I go with my friends we typically enter from the Sand Creek Rd entrance.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Stroller / ADA accessible 6 mentions

“An interesting mix of wetland and mature forest that is very accessible due to the board walk that loops around the whole preserve.”

🌳 Shaded / tree cover 4 mentions

“Maintenance was a bit behind as of yesterday, with numerous planks of the main circuit rotted and broken, so it is wise to lower one's gaze from the canopy frequently.”
