Confirmed from Bear Creek Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Easygoing park with a pond, picnic area, hiking trails and horse trails.

“Amazing shade and shore casting is easy.”

Nice, well-maintained green space in Lancaster. Beautiful place to spend an afternoon in nature with the family. The park has a fishing pond, picnic tables, clean bathrooms, a pavilion, lots of trees, a kid-size bouldering wall, walking and equestrian trails, and city-sponsored camping.
Had a pretty good time here. Great place to hike. For beginners, it fits. Not too long or difficult. I have hiked in many places, but this is close to home in Lancaster. It is a gem the community.
1st visit. Everyone was friendly. Caught 2 BASS: 3lb and 2lb (weightless 5in senko green/red) + (4in weightless creature bait). Amazing shade and shore casting is easy. Water is clear enough to see the bait fish.
Nice place to kick up the feet for a bit. Plenty of picnic tables for everyone. Cool ponds, probably wouldn’t swim in them, but they do have fish and turtles as well as other four legged dudes hanging around. Nice place to walk off lunch

“My only critique would be that some of the trails would benefit from more clearing of roots and stumps or being lined with rocks or gravel.”
“Gathering area and a trail without lights, but a light is available near parking.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
