Confirmed from Cascade Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Canal trail featuring waterfalls, a historic lock system and views of the Cuyahoga Valley.
What runners say about Cascade Park
“Not well maintained in winter, pathways and viewing areas are not cleared of snow so be aware that this park is handicap usable and accessible during non-winter seasons.”
“There ia a little for everyone, and if you are there around 7 pm you can see the Cuyahoga scenic train depart!”
“In summary great place to walk, stroll or run alone or with kids.”
This place was a great find while exploring Akron. A lot of history to read about. The canal is still in exceptional shape given the age. The store/museum was interesting and had a staff of two to answer any questions and they were very friendly. There are restrooms available.
First time here and absolutely loved it. So peaceful. I don't get out in nature by myself as much as I'd like to and it was a perfect setting for a lazy lunch walk. The trail, park and parking lot were very clean.
I would definitely recommend this trail! It’s a very nice path if your hiking, biking or walking!
Found this place while looking for somewhere relaxing to view the total solar eclipse. The Mustill store and House happened to be having an eclipse party going on- double wedding, music, snacks and origami! Very beautiful atmosphere, many walking paths and sites to see.
