Confirmed from Belleau Woods Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Quiet, clean, grassy park offering picnic areas and a playground, plus hiking trails.
What runners say about Belleau Woods Park
“Very well maintained, clean, and just all around beautiful.”
“Hidden gem, a wonderful park with gorgeous meadows and a short creek path.”
“Off the beaten path so it's quiet, peaceful and plenty of room for the kids to enjoy.”
This is a small park in Lexington that runs along a creek in a neighborhood. Don’t go there much, but recently a very rare (to Kentucky) yellow-crowned night heron started hanging around. Apparently, the creek has lots of crawfish and it appears this guy likes them!
No restrooms. Otherwise very nice neighborhood park. Covered and uncovered picnic areas with grills near playground. Has full range of playground equipment for little ones and older kids. Paved path, 0.5 mile, partly shaded, has benches along the path, creek on border of park, behind Tates Creek Center.
This park is gorgeous. You can walk right up to the creek behind Kroger. There are paved and mown trails, and a pollinator habitat garden. The tennis court has seen better days.
Very quiet and beautiful. A great place to walk after surgery... no major hills & the creek is along the edge. It's very surprising that this gem is right behind a major shopping center. I come here often!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
