Confirmed from Hartland Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hartland Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (266 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The playground equipment is always clean & the park is quiet.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful scenery and a excellent place for a picnic.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Solid Park, Plaground offers no shade but does have a gazebo for the parents.”

This is a great little neighborhood park. There's a playset for very young kids and another for bigger kids. There's a pavilion with tables and there's a small pond where I see people fishing. I've never walked it but there's also a paved path that appears to go around the park and pond. Nice, safe location.

★★★★★ — Mindy , Aug 2019

Lots of wild turtles in the pond to enjoy looking at, and the birds seem to have set up soundly in this neighborhood as well. I do wish there were a water fountain, so the lack of hydration during walks was a star off. Otherwise, a great place for families!

★★★★☆ — Noland , May 2019

Small park with a nice paved walking trail and a playground for little kids. My dog and I both like that there is a natural surface foot path option too.

★★★★★ — Roscoe , Apr 2023

Solid Park, Plaground offers no shade but does have a gazebo for the parents. No running water or restroom facilities. Lots of wonderful shade trees scattered throughout the grassy fields. This Park is wonderful for a short little picnic or a leisurely game of catch.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“There was one more on there though that doesn't know how to leash is unruly dog and a couple kids almost got knocked over because it was chasing another loose dog”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
