Confirmed from Beus Canyon Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (149 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“Love this trail will be honest it's not the easiest pretty steep incline although it is nice and shady and the sound or the running creek is beautiful.”

🌳 shaded & cool 13 mentions

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Ones were clearly marked other were not so just stay on this one if you are not sure.”

This trail is wonderful and we love to hike it. But be on the lookout for RATTLESNAKES! My three boys and I hiked on 5/20/23 and saw two rattlers on the trail and spoke with two parties who heard or saw a rattler on a different part of the trail (4 snakes total in less than a mile).

Very shady. I am not avid hiker. I am not athletic. Steep, one quick turn and you are quickly going up the mountain. Rocky but clear distinguished trail the whole way. Shady & river the whole way. You end up on mt. Ogden. I did not make it the whole way as I had a limited time.

Trail goes right along the river. Lots of slow moving shallow river spots to let the kids stop and play. It’s nice and shaded as well.

Awesome trail and amazing view. HOWEVER, BE CAREFUL OF RATTLESNAKES AND MOUNTAIN LIONS! WE SAW 2 RATTLESNAKES AND HAD COUGAR FOLLOW US OVER 2 MILES! KEEP CHILDREN CLOSE AND PUT DOGS ON LEASHES! IT MIGHT BE A SMALL CHANCE BUT DONT RISK THAT STUFF AND BRING BEAR SPRAY OR SOMETHING TOO JUST IN CASE!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
