Confirmed from Billy Dunlop Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“A beautiful little park with easy access to the river for kayaks, and a rather steep 1/2 mile walking trail accross the bridge.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Lots of shade and large covered pavilion.”

This was a beautiful park to visit with the kids after just moving to Clarksville! There is a great view of a river from the park. The playground was nice and there is plenty of open space for the kids to run around and burn off all that built up energy from the drive! We ll definitely visit again!

Scenic park , family friendly, and so many ways to enjoy your day outside. The awesome creek, that is easily accessible for swimming and fishing. Playground basketball court, picnic tables, BBQ grills, open fields , and an open Pavillion, provide all the amenities necessary for a full day of family fun.

It’s been some time since I reviewed the playground update, and it looks much improved—clean and loved by kids. Adding a paved walking path in the open field would be a great addition. Be cautious of guests bringing dogs, especially if they claim they're friendly, even when they're not on a leash.

★★★★☆ — Ashley , Apr 2026

A beautiful little park with easy access to the river for kayaks, and a rather steep 1/2 mile walking trail accross the bridge. Bathrooms, and a large covered pavilion with a small stage and round metal tables can accommodate a pretty good size family reunion or group.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Billy Dunlop Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
