Confirmed from Black Brook Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve featuring hiking trails that are open to dogs.
What runners say about Black Brook Preserve
“Trails are marked and well maintained.”
“Beautiful but trails and signs a little confusing great place for a walk with the dog.”
“Beautiful trail easy hike for all experiences.”
Great trail to run or walk with the dog! Watch out for ticks though, it is loaded with them here. I pulled 6 of 6 my dog and two off me last time. The trails could use updated markers. Got a little turned around at one point and managed to cut off half of the route I wanted to take!
Not a difficult trail. Trails are very well marked and pup friendly. There is a marker post with a dog bone container. Longest trail is a bit over 1 mile. They have shorter options. Our pup loved it. She loves mucking around. Bring your waterproof hiking shoes. Trails were muddy when we visited.
Great local hiking 🥾 spot 😃⭐️🐸⭐️. The Diamond 💎 Trail is longest loop ✨✨✨✨. Great place to take the family or hounds for a run. A little mucky 🍀 in spots, so don’t forget ya bean boots bub 😂. Liberty Bell 🔔 Moving has local movers near you in Maine 🔥🤩🔥.
This is a easy walk/hike. We particularly like the plant markers on the trails, nice added touch to preserve. There's plenty of little foot bridges and early April snow melt meant plenty of running water. Very peaceful and quiet place
Trail conditions & character
“Dog stretch their legs, if you're going to stop at Corsettis, lots of deer so keep an eye out, but your dog can get out for a minute before you stop at the store.”
“We particularly like the plant markers on the trails, nice added touch to preserve.”
“A nice easy to moderate hike - some areas have a steeper incline and roots above ground.”
“Close by, very accessible, great trails for walking and skiing in the winter.”
