Confirmed from Blue Clay Bike Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Mountain-biking terrain with varying skill levels plus beginner and intermediate courses.
What runners say about Blue Clay Bike Park
“Excellent, challenging and very well maintained!”
“Very friendly community supporting a well-built, well-marked circuit.”
Nice place for a quiet walk. Since mungo homes took over abbey nature, it’s my go to spot to get a few miles in surrounded by nature.
Coming from the Raleigh area, I was worried these trails would disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised! There's more elevation change here than expected and the trail builders have done a great job of taking advantage of what vertical curves they can. But they've also maximized the fun from horizontal curves.
Went out for the first time today and biked the full trail. This was essentially my first time ever mountain biking. The first half was amazingly fun and awesome. The second half is full of hill climbs and will absolutely wear you out. I only wiped out once, and luckily it was a fairly soft landing.
One of my favorite places to train for trail races. It’s beautiful and quiet and a good workout!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
