Confirmed from Blue Mountain Summit Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Blue Mountain Summit Trail Head
This place completely blew my mind! If you love riding big slabs and technical terrain, then Blue Mountain Reserve has you covered. This park boasts 28 miles of great MTB trails surrounded by massive glacial formations.
One of the nicest park in Westchester, perfect for hiking and mountain biking. The trails are nicely marked and well maintained.
Beautiful hiking area! Was out for an hour on a Friday afternoon and only passed one mountain biker and 6 white tailed deer. Some trails are very clearly marked, others not so much. Be sure to get a photo of the map at the trail head and pay attention. Confused about the parking fee situation.
The trailhead itself is fine- Leads to a couple of the main Trails entering the park. Significantly less parking than bear mountain (and that's a good thing) Has a Porta-John

Plan your run at Blue Mountain Summit Trail Head
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
