We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Bouton Trail trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Bouton Trail trailhead
“Feels secluded but is well defined and beautiful.”
“Easy trail to find and walk/run.”
Easy trail to find and walk/run. Feels secluded but is well defined and beautiful. Small parking lot, clear map at trailhead, clear paths throughout, lovely views of river and surrounding farmland. Mostly flat, loop with a cut through (see map) and power line easement, and easy for kids.
Very wide and easy path. A good portion has had gravel laid. Peaceful with good river access if fishing is your reason to be there. Several birds, various plant life, abundant deer to watch.
Mainly used the Trail to access South Holston for trout fishing, but trail is very nice and follows along the river for about 1/2 the trip
First time here. I really like this park! Nice trails. Love to pitch a tent! Paradise!
