Confirmed from Blue Hole's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Blue Hole

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (518 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 16 mentions

“Not a long hike to the falls but it is challenging especially for people like me with short legs but its absolutely stunning scenery”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Visited Blue Hole in early March and it was incredibly peaceful with hardly anyone around.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Easy hike to make it to and it was absolutely worth it when I got there.”

One of the best hidden gems we have found! The long hike from yesterday prevented us from getting all the way to the second and third falls, but was worth the trip nonetheless. Not a hike for the weak. The trail is comprised of a root torn path and then wooden stairs. To the first cove it is 18 stairs.

You absolutely have to make a trip out to this place! It's amazing!!! Some of the most beautiful scenery and trails available to go on a little adventure. Great for families, couples, and / or if you prefer to go solo, you can have fun just as well.

I feel like it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. Great view met wonderful people. I was there two days in a row and had my daughter and my dogs, to go with me the second time. Awesome hike! Best connection with mother nature, and the big guy above!

We loved it! The trail was a bit slippery, but it was not too bad. The water was flowing heavily from the heavy rains recently, so that really made it nice! We are anxious to go back in the summer to get into the water.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
