Confirmed from Boyd Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Riverfront acreage offering seasonal sporting activities, fishing, trails & picnicking with grills.
What runners say about Boyd Park
“Wonderful natural plants growing and before you know what happened, you are in the middle of beautiful woods next to the most calming river setting.”
“Fantastic family friendly or just to be with significant other place.”
Great covered pavilion. Inside facilities are there but not always available for use . Beautiful nature trails . Gorgeous views of the river . Has a cool suspension bridge popular with bicyclists and joggers. Worth the time to check it out .
One of the bridges in Eau Claire for biking. Eau Claire has a lot of bike trails as well as beautiful fall colors. Enjoy.
Brand new playground and skatepark one of the only neighborhood parks with restrooms that are open during the warm months, has a natural area with a prairie with a nice hiking trail, trail head for the city’s bike trails, solar shade tree, basketball court, water bottle filling station, largest ice rink in Eau Claire…
Been here many times over the years, flying kites, ice skating, hiking and biking thru, grilling, exploring the River, and 4th of July this year which had a good energy. There is a new pollination garden in the prairie section, which also has hiking trails that connect to the park area by the Hastings bridge.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
