Confirmed from Otter Creek Hiking Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Otter Creek Hiking Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (74 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Usually go here for the Pokestops and gyms, but occasionally I do walk the trail, which is surprisingly beautiful and relaxing.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Well-marked trails that make for an easy hike.”

I’ve been wading in Otter Creek for 20 years, never knew there was an “official” hiking area. I know of a few secret beaches to have a picnic or some privacy with your lady but I’m not telling you where they are otherwise they will get crowded.

★★★★★ — Hank , Jul 2022

Here’s what you need to know: The trails are located at Centennial Park. It is free to get in and there is a parking lot, porta potty and playground. The creek is easily accessible along the trail. It is very pretty and an easy walk. Bring your bug spray in the summer as there are a lot of mosquitoes.

★★★★★ — Roxanne , Jul 2020

A fantastic little place to get away and enjoy nature. Had a great day hiking, trails are just right for a nice hike and to take in the sights.

★★★★★ — Will , Sep 2022

One of my favorite places to hike when I’m short on time. My dog also loves it. The park even provides poop bags! The only downside for me is the constant car traffic sounds from the Bypass.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
