What runners say about Brandow Point Unique Area
Brandow Point, along with connecting trails to Cohotate Preserve and The Willows, are all very nice for a short hike. Lots of birds and nice scenery of the Hudson River. However, be aware that there is a lot of Poison Ivy all along the the trails in the woods. I included pics to help with identification.
For its relatively limited size, there is a little bit of something for a a wide variety of visitors. Short, easy, neatly-mowed paths through wildflower fields, occasional benches, hilly woodland terrain with slightly challenging stretches, points of interest and beauty for nature-lovers casual and more serious.
It's a fun short trail. Local not far from the heart of Catskill, five minutes to be exact. Many beautiful birds here.
