Confirmed from Brandywine Falls' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Brandywine Falls

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (5,855 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“I definitely recommend checking it out just be mindful and keep it clean.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 17 mentions

“The waterfall is stunning, especially after a good rain, and the boardwalk trail makes it easy to enjoy the views from every angle.”

Love that this trail is a loop. We started on the side furthest from the waterfall so we could end with that! If you only wanted to hike a short distance, you could begin on that side and just enjoy the view.

Nice walk! Felt good walking around, along going up and down the steps to see the water fall! I didn't spend much time here, but im sure there was plenty of trails! Very beautiful nature experience!

Great little hike especially during fall! Gorgeous fall colors. Huge free parking lot with bathrooms and a well-maintained trail.

★★★★★ — Leilani , Dec 2025

I love visiting this part of the CVNP. The parking lot here is usually pretty full, but I can usually find a place to park. There are bathrooms located here as well. This waterfall is impressive for being in Ohio and it attracts many people to it. If you are able to do stairs, I recommend checking it out.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
