Confirmed from Brecksville Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature center with a children's area, playground, and family events, plus trails, and a picnic area.
What runners say about Brecksville Nature Center
“Very well maintained and the added stairs for the steep hills makes it enjoyable for everyone.”
“In addition to the nature center, the reservation offers many beautiful trails that vary in difficulty.”
The nature center itself is quite humble, with not many exciting exhibits but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. In the colder months, they do offer the opportunity to feed several kinds of birds, including chickadees and nuthatches.
The nature center is great, with several spots geared toward the younger nature lovers. There's a lot to see & learn here. The staff is knowledgeable & very friendly. The trails surrounding the nature center are awesome for anyone who enjoys a walk outdoors. There are hiking trails as well as multi purpose trails.
Lovely little nature center where we have been so many times I cannot count and will be back. The staff at the desk will answer questions, but it’s a self-guided experience. Kids can touch almost everything …with the exception of caged and preserved animals. There are a few live animals (snake, turtle and frog).
I very much enjoyed my last visit to the Brecksville Nature Center. If you like to watch birds and enjoy their singing then go for it. I loved the hiking trails, I would say it is moderate level. There are three stairs trails, make the hike more interesting, the river view from the top is amazing.
Trail conditions & character
“Restrooms, picnic areas, pavilions, playgrounds, fields to play sports in, walking trails and some of the rental areas used to offer swimming too.”
“In addition to the nature center, the reservation offers many beautiful trails that vary in difficulty.”
“Did the deer lick cave loop with a few friends and my dogs.”
“Nearby parking and access to the bridal trails is nearby as well”
“It’s right on the Wildflower trail which is good for wheelchairs/strollers or little legs for an easy hike.”
