I have only been to one tiny corner of this park starting at the Lafayette Ridge staging area (across from Acalanes HS.) We have hiked alone and with our grandkids. The trails we went on were fairly wide but packed hard and rutted. Watch out for cow pies!
Briones Regional Park has a lot of different trails that you can walk on with a lot of spectacular views! There is plenty of parking, especially the earlier you go. There is lots of open space and there is not a lot of people on the trails.
You want open spaces, they’ve got open spaces. Great place to hike all by your lonesome or with others if you like. Black cows here and there but they mind their own business. It gets hot here in the summer. One path will take you to the Briones archery range.
This a lovely hike, everything is so green and pretty, the trail was very clean and there were some beautiful flowers along the way. I would definitely recommend this place and go here again.
