Confirmed from Bronx River Pathway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Bronx River Pathway

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (219 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“it's pretty scenic during any season from greenery of Spring to the vibrance of summer to autumnal colors of Fall to snowy blankets of winter.”

Love walking here in the spring and fall. So much greenery and nature. It’s very long but you can choose how far you want to go!

★★★★★ — Samantha , Mar 2025

A relaxing place for my nature walks. There is a lot to explore on this lengthy trail and I've enjoyed different sections from the Bronx to Crestwood. Great if you are looking for a slice of nature amidst our hustle culture.

★★★★★ — Eboni , Jun 2022

Beautiful trail, goes all the way back to white planes and worth doing the whole walk once in a lifetime. Amazing scenery

★★★★★ — Ita40200 , Sep 2023

most think of the Bronx River Parkway as a roadway that's mostly highway by design. however it's also a very walkable nature pathway and bike trail that stretches from part of westchester to the bronx.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
