Confirmed from Twin Lakes County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“Very quiet and you may have a chance to bump into a family of deer.”

Great place to take a walk with the family. I enjoyed the quietness and cleanliness of the park. It has many paths to take. The drive from my house was beautiful. They had a barn by the park with horses. I'd recommend for a nice run or walk for a breath of fresh air.

Always a nice park to walk through. Depending what paths you take, the park feels huge. There's been a few times where the lot was full and I still barely bumped into anyone on the trails. Very quiet and you may have a chance to bump into a family of deer.

This is a great location for a walk or jog. Iv’e been here several times both alone or with others. If you live in the Bronx and have a car this is easily accessible. There is a large (by City folk standards) central lake which is surrounded by woods.

It's our local place for a lovely walk. The dogs love it, we get a lot of exercise. Watch out for the poison ivy

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
