Confirmed from Brown Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

My family and I go for walks daily and this is a place we go alot. There's a small pond here, never swam in it but pretty seeing all the turtles and fish. There's always an owl out too that we see every walk.

Peaceful, trails are well maintained, it is a nice get away close to town. Not a very long walk but what it has to offer is still very nice.

Our first time going there and it was an awesome experience the trail is very nice a lot of different options and doesn't even seem like you're in the middle of a city while walking through it's very peaceful and I highly recommend this place for a quick getaway and some beautiful wildlife!

Nice, very quiet and peaceful. Trails are about . 6 miles but you can walk the outer loop trail a few times to get more exercise.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“Only disappointing thing was there was a lot of dog poop on the trail.”

Plan your run at Brown Woods

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
