This was primarily a visit to Bull Run Regional Park to walk the Bluebell Trail. The trail is a great, easy 2 mile hike along the Bull Run and Cub Run Rivers. The April day was gorgeous and the bluebells were in full bloom.
Gorgeous day to walk through the beautiful bluebells, spring beauties, and more. Muddy in some areas with all the April showers, so be prepared for that. Not too many people on the trail on a late Saturday morning. Bluebell trail is a loop starting near the Atlantis water park parking lot.
We came here for a short hike and to see the bluebells during peak bloom (early April). It was beautiful! There are quite a few spots that would be great for portraits along the trails. The trails are also well maintained, easy to navigate, and would be good for jogging.
Bull Run Park is an absolute gem. The park is beautifully maintained with so much to offer — peaceful wooded trails, a scenic creek, open grassy areas, and a fantastic disc golf course. It feels like a true escape into nature while still being very accessible.
