Confirmed from Burcham Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
City park with a playground, trail & view of the Kansas River plus a preserved cottonwood forest.
What runners say about Burcham Park
“Park is beautiful with a perfect canopy with tables as well as home for the KU Rowing Team (which is currently recruiting any students interested).”

It’s beautiful. My two sons and I walked the trail and played in the dirt and sticks every turn we made! At the end of our adventure there’s a water pump that we were all more than happy and able to access to cool off and wash away the dirt and sweat before climbing back into the car.
Burcham Park is a nice nature area. The trail is paved now which is both safer and somewhat sad--almost getting lost in the trees was part of the charm of the trail. There is fishing in the river, though I wouldn't recommend eating anything from there. The artwork throughout the park is lovely.
if you go down the trails leading from the park itself there's some amazing places. the park, is also fantastic as it has multiple recreation areas and a very upliftng atmosphere. A solid pick if you want to explore lawrence and get outside the town a little.
Cute little park, nice water view. Fishing available in multiple areas. Hiking available but paths are not well-worn. Swings for the kiddos as well, okay well maybe for me too.
