Confirmed from Burroughs Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Clean park featuring a kids' playground, a splash pad and a trail.
What runners say about Burroughs Creek Park
“The trail was well maintained and perfect for the runners!”
“This is a beautiful, clean and friendly park.”
I volunteered at this corner to help out with the Kansas Half Marathon. The park was in amazing shape. The trail was well maintained and perfect for the runners!
Beautiful trail and park! However, as of fall 2024, the bike tools and repair stand is not working. Everything in it seems to have been broken or stolen over recent years. I found it on Google and went hoping I could pump my flat tire, but everything was broken.
If it's one thing that I really love about living in Lawrence, it's that not only is the place nicely walkable but that there really are an abundance of parks and locations for the kids to play.
Water park is free and great, but seasonal and o ly open during warm months. Has two single stall bathrooms and playgrounds. A stop along the route of a larger trail.
Trail conditions & character
“Always our favorite park but we love the recent additions of the bathrooms and the picnic area and carved rocks.”
