Confirmed from Butch Kennedy Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Butch Kennedy Trail Head
Reviewed from a Floridian’s perspective...this had hills!! And man oh man did I feel it. The actual trails were wide enough for biking single file as well as hiking. Narrow in many places. There appears to be more horse usage than the other two.
Been coming here for years! Love the diversity of the trails. Due to the mass amount of foot traffic, trails have become “rooty”. Regardless, love these trails!
Really beautiful trail with some shorr parts being rugged and difficult to navigate with a lot of brush on both sides some of which may be poison ivy mostly blackberry and muscadine vines. It is very peaceful with beautiful views of the lake.
Great place to ride. Thank you to all the folks that maintain the trails. Parking lot is spacious. We love the green trail.
Trail conditions & character
“There is ample trailer parking, and a porta potty.”
“There is a lot of sugar sand and muddy spots that horses have stepped in.”
“There is a porta-potty and a place to wash your bike”
“I didn’t have a map and it would sure help if the trail markers had a small map every so often.”

- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
