Confirmed from Butler-Freeport Community Trail Bonniebrook Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Butler-Freeport Community Trail Bonniebrook Road Trailhead
“An absolutely beautiful trail for any activity from walking in the summer to skiing in the winter.”
I've only hiked a very small part of this trail but the parts I have, it's really nice. Not to be complaining about volunteer work but bring the bug spray: parts of the trail sometimes don't get cut back for long parts of the summer and the bugs get bad.
Trail from this location is all downhill to Butler so be prepared for the climb back up if you park here and go that direction. I recommend parking in Butler and riding up to this point and beyond and then going back downhill on the return.
A pleasant but a little bit chilly walk starting at Dittmer Rd to Brinker Rd to Great Belt Rd back to Dittmer Rd. About five miles. A dozen or so others out for walks too. Bundle up and go for a walk.
25 miles trip between Butler and Freeport Pa. Good trail surface - Rails to trails. Be sure to stop at the Derailleur Cafe six miles out from Butler.

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
