Confirmed from Butternut Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Butternut Creek Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (16 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

This is a trail within the SoHi Butternut Creek neighborhood. It is being developed along the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Corridor. It is currently imcomplete, but features about half a mile of paved trail, and a hundred feet of rock trail as of 12/2019.

★★★★★ — Samantha , Dec 2019

A nice, quiet paved pathway along the creek and protected nature area. There is no parking, just street parking. The path was maybe a mile long and it looks like they may continue it later on. The path just ends and runs into a patch of gravel for now. Pretty views of nature and the path itself was fun.

★★★★★ — Elise , Jul 2019

It’s a nice, little trail. There’s no parking lot but you can park on Deline Street, near the park, and walk from there.

★★★★☆ — Elle , Mar 2026

Great path to take a short walk. Add a couple benches or tables and it would be perfect

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
