Confirmed from Calhoun Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Nice clean restrooms and overhead covered picnic tables.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“The park is very family friendly.”

Nice short trails, good pleasant trails with some hills for good light workout. Nice area for a date. Kids play ground near the parking.

★★★★★ — Alex , May 2023

Suburban park with baseball and soccer fields. Picnic area. Fishing pond. Hiking trails with moderate difficulty and excellent for cross country running. Ample parking and restrooms. One word of caution, there is a tornado siren at the top of the hill which is tested weekly at exactly 10 am on Thursdays.

★★★★★ — Michael , Aug 2017

Nice park. Easy parking, playground, and flush potties. Water to fish in or walk by, baseball and basketball. We went on a rainy day and it was quiet. There were LARPers running around on the other side of the water and my kid enjoyed seeing their costumes.

★★★★★ — Muhmuh , Apr 2023

The playgrounds are great and we hiked the trail, if you are a light hiker this trail is very steep uphill and then steep downhill so if either of those are difficult for you I wouldn’t suggest this hike but otherwise it was very nice.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
