Confirmed from Canal Lock 4 Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park along a canal that has a lock, used for recreational purposes such as fishing and kayaking.
What runners say about Canal Lock 4 Trailhead
“A much better trailhead than the others in the area, the historic part is well kept compared to the others as well.”
“Always a beautiful place to walk, bike run picnic, or fish for bluegill.”
“Didn't get any bites, but it was peaceful and beautiful today.”
Beautiful area of the canal. This was my first time around this spot. Has to park behind spaghetti warehouse and walk left for a while. It was so with it. Well maintained and peaceful but a busy spot.
This is awesome very nice stretch of the tow path all the way too butter ridge rd
Nice little park along the canal trail. Small parking lot and very busy with walkers, bikers, and people fishing. Well preserved lock, although it was cemented over and doesn't have that cut stone look. The lock was used as part of the canal boat ride, but it fell into dis-repair and is no longer part of the ride.
As a small boy I took it for granted that I could walk to this lock from my home nearly every day. The rich history was apparent but somewhat lost on me at the time. Very cool that this still exists and is well preserved. Beautiful area. So thankful I got to grow up in Canal Fulton.
