Confirmed from Canal Lock Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic

A charming, scenic, restful, shaded option for strolling, picnics and reading by a historic canal lock.

What runners say about Canal Lock Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (77 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Small scenic area close to Warrior Soccer Club fields.”

Cute litte park to see some history, take a small walk with or without your dog, and / or have some lunch. Looking over the lock never gets old.

★★★★★ — Shanon , Jun 2024

The wooden doors are on the lock, which is terrific because you can visualize how the lock worked. This historic structure is part of the canal that opened Ohio to commerce with the eastern states and beyond. The picnic table, benches and path make this Park a charming place.

★★★★★ — Mary , Apr 2019

Small and pretty with a very short gravel walking path on either side of the lock. It's pretty noisy being right on Fishburg Rd but still worth a visit for a bit of history and an easy walk.

★★★★☆ — Andy , Oct 2024

Great little park to relax, picnic or simply take a relaxing walk in the area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
