Confirmed from Cannonball Prairie Metropark's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Cannonball Prairie Metropark

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (87 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Scenery, trails, clean less crowded.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Never new this was here, what a beautiful little spot for fishing, kayaking, and just a nice stroll.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“Fantastic birding and a peaceful setting that feels remote but isn't too far off the beaten path.”

It is a nice park with natural beauty and a peaceful environment. It is still under development and will take sometime to get fully completed with other trails, trees and many facilities. However, this still has a very long and new cycling track which you could also use for walk.

A nice space for a walk, also, nice looking campsites that should provide good starviewing. Paths a rustic and so a bit muddy after the rain. Connects to the cannon Wabash trail, so can travel in by bike. Kayaking is also possible, but a small body of water...

Have been to two walks there so far. The prairie is in the early stages, but already lovely. It's amazing to have an opportunity to experience a bit of what NW Ohio looked like prior to being settled and plowed. Highly recommend.

We rode our bikes up the north fork of the Wabash Cannonball trail and stopped there to rest and enjoy the peacefulness of the pond and trail that goes around it. Very nice!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🤫 Quiet / uncrowded 6 mentions
