We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Canyon Nature Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“A great family hike and beautiful scenery!”

Absolutely breathtaking. Just keep a close watch on your kids, the trail sides are very steep. Give yourself enough time to get to the cave opening for your scheduled tour. It can take anywhere from an hour to a couple of hours depending on your physical condition.

A great family hike and beautiful scenery! One of my personal favorites! It does get a bit cold in the cave so if you get cold easily... Bring a jacket.

★★★★★ — Caleb , Jun 2016

Great hike and great view! If you are in Utah you should definitely go and experience this amazing place!

★★★★★ — Petar , Sep 2014

There is plenty of parking here for the hike to Timp Cave. Nice Park Rangers.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
