Confirmed from Canyonlands / Mt Lakeway Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Also great for mountain biking, clean bathroom before the trail.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“This is a great trail with lots of elevation change and beautiful scenery.”

🏃 great for running 2 mentions
🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“The official trail intersections are well marked, but be aware there are a lot of well used "unofficial" trails that can lead you astray.”

Very challenging but scenic trail. Dog friendly for the most part. Not too many cyclists and the cycling trails don't intertwine too much with the walking paths. You can take a variety of paths to get to the peak based on how many switchbacks versus incline paths you decide to take.

Beautiful and sometimes challenging trail! Would go again! The only downside is that you have to be really good with directions(I’m not) There aren’t a lot of directional markings and it’s very easy to get lost, but if you’re good at navigating it is awesome!! Also bring food and water.

Intense workout, it is easy to get lost on your way back depending where you park. Decent views. Also great for mountain biking, clean bathroom before the trail. Coming back for sure and running the whole thing

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
