Confirmed from Canyonview Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Sprawling green space with soccer goals, basketball courts and a sand volleyball area.

What runners say about Canyonview Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (221 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“The infamous broken slide is still in need of repair and there is currently one swing missing, everything else is in great condition.”

Super good park with a large pavilion and nice playground. Tons of space with the amount of fields and a couple nice walking/running trails near the park. Plenty of parking and space to do whatever you want. As of Dec. 2022 construction was being done on the parking lot.

★★★★★ — Jacob , Dec 2022

Great park with a fun playground, nice walking route, dog bag stations, basketball court, and nice big pavilion. Well taken care of. Just wish the city would take care of the big dust bowls in the grass. A soccer kid could get inured on the unlevel ground.

★★★★☆ — Racquel , Jul 2017

Canyonview Park has great fields for practice. My kid's love the playground and are always asking to stay a little longer to play. We also love the walking path around, and how clean the facilities are.

★★★★★ — Lauren , Sep 2025

Very nice playground area. Several sidewalk paths around the soccer fields. Great for strollers. Down side is that there is not much shade.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
