Confirmed from Monarch Meadows Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
City park with a playground, soccer fields, pavilion, trails, and a restroom.
What runners say about Monarch Meadows Park
“It’s extremely nostalgic, always well-kept and they always cut the grass on time.”
“It's quiet and a nice place to sit outside on a beautiful day”
Such a great park. Perfect for winter and summer activities. Spacious and family friendly, with a fun playground, big field, and a trail for walking and biking.
Good park for kids old than toddlers with soccer fields. Nice walking trails as well.
Our soccer team plays games here. I wish there were more trees for shade, but the grounds are well taken care of here. Green grass throughout even in the middle of the summer heat. Fun playground and a nice Pavillion with plenty of picnic tables and a bathroom.
We came for Christmas vacation from Alabama and we’re staying in subdivision close by. Our kids have seen snow only ones before, so we were really looking for sone kind of sledding hill, snow open play area. We were lucky we saw this place driving by, 2 days before our vacation was over.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
