Confirmed from Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“It's very serene walking through it.”

A nice little place to walk and enjoy some nature scenery. Additionally, the rock garden is a very cool feature. A little small but a nice place overall. I think it would be enjoyable to fish here. Get out and have a pleasant nature walk!

This place is excellent for walking the dog, but also for getting into nature while still in the city. The trails are well maintained, and long enough that you can still maintain some solitude as you walk them, if that's what you want. I love the vernal pond and the area left to grow naturally.

Nice walk and soon to be nice place to take pictures with the rock landscape. Went fishing for about 2 hours got one little bass. Alot of blue gill and carp. Would recommended checking it out if you have the time.

★★★★☆ — Casey , Aug 2022

The rocks were very fascinating and the bathrooms were some of the nicest I’ve ever seen at a park. I wish the trail was longer and not just looking at a bunch of backyards and houses though. Cool place to check out still

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
