Confirmed from Carter Road Silver Comet Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (180 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Hence it is not as shady or beautiful like other parts of Silver Comet Trail that are in Smyrna, Mableton, or Austell.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

Although this a popular trail head you can venture off a tad and take a more secluded route by taking the "horse" trail to the right immediately upon getting out of your car. We like this path because you get less bike traffic and more shade. We found a ton of Mushrooms just off the trail to identify.

This is just a small parking lot for Silver Comet Trail access. For those coming south from Marietta on Powder Springs, it is the closest trail access point. There are no bathrooms or water

I love walking silver comet trail. This is one of my favorite starting points because it’s less crowded in the morning and it has a-lot more trees and better scenery.

★★★★★ — Jamine , Apr 2025

I walked 8 miles Westbound on Silver Comet Trail from this trailhead with my wife and dog. The trail is pretty open and there was even some wildlife to be seen (Deer, Snake, and Turtle). This section of the trail has good shade so walking mid-day isn't too bad.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 16 mentions

“That said, you can also park here to access the Comet with enough parking for probably 20 cars right next to the trail.”
