Confirmed from Wild Horse Trail (South End)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wild Horse Trail (South End)

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (8 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Stepping off from a small Silver Comet trailhead at Carter Road, you enter an isolated, seldom-used concrete path that follows Noses Creek. Occasional intrusions of suburban life punctuate your 1.8 mile journey through a wetlands runoff that is replete with wildlife seeking the same refuge that you are.

★★★★☆ — Charles , Jun 2019

This trail goes from the Silver Comet Trail Carter Rd parking lot to the neighborhood across from the Seven Springs Water park. A great bike trail, wide, shady and mostly flat. We enjoyed a picnic at the park across the street when we finished the trail.

★★★★★ — Evelyn , Oct 2020

Wide, concrete path perfect for walking or biking with the family. Well-shaded too. The drainage sewers are all painted like animals, so this is a great bonus way to keep the kids entertained. On the north end, you can park at Devin Springs Water Park and cross the road into the residential neighborhood.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
