We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Chappie-Shasta ORV Staging Area yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Chappie-Shasta ORV Staging Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (53 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Beautiful scenery from the staging area and throughout the hundreds of miles of trails and roads accessed from here.”

I love this area. There are trails for every skill level. Great place for a day of family fun or just for getting out and ripping around. Beautiful views and walking trails for those that do not want to ride. Campground there as well. We live close to the area so we have never used.

★★★★★ — Kristine , Dec 2019

This is a great place to ride with miles of dirt roads and single track. It has a very large staging area with a multi level unloading area, picnic tables, shade structures, and restroom. The trail system has something for everyone; beginner to advanced, motorcycles to side by sides.

★★★★★ — Joseph , Jan 2018

Awesome staging area and camp ground. Beautiful scenery from the staging area and throughout the hundreds of miles of trails and roads accessed from here. A beautiful area for almost anything outdoors.

★★★★★ — Charles , Apr 2019

Could use maps of the area that you can ride with so ya dont get lost in all the trails, but definitely will put your toys and rigs through break in periods

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
