Confirmed from Flanagan Trail Flanagan Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area offering a rocky trail with scenic views from the summit.
What runners say about Flanagan Trail Flanagan Road Trailhead
“Flanagan Trail is a quiet and scenic hike that starts from the Flanagan Road Trailhead.”
Easy bike ride to the top, fun ride down. There's even a picnic table at the top of you want to chill out for a spell. Fair amount of poison oak at the trail head so be aware.
Beautiful hike with great views from the top. A good workout and can done by just walking in less than two hours.
The place you park to start the hike to Chamise Peak. After about a 1.3 mile hike up hill, you will incounter a fork in the trail. Right path goes 1.2 miles up to the peak. Going straight will eventually take you to the dam, around 5 + miles i believe. Plenty of parking for around 10 or so cars.
A great classic hike to Chamise Peak! Local in Redding, nice gradual incline, and an amazing view of the 3 Shasta’s at the top! Mount Shasta, Shasta Lake, and Shasta Dam. There’s 1 picnic table at the top and this is one of the rare hikes with cellphone service.
