Confirmed from Chatham Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful park featuring a walking trail that circles a pond and lake.
What runners say about Chatham Park

“Half the trail is shaded while the other half allows you to get some much needed sunlight!”
“Decent, simple park located adjacent to two busy streets but aside from the noise it’s peaceful, calming and great for a calm walk in the evening.”
Been coming here recently to walk and get my exercise. Been here in Newport News since 1974 but coming here to the trail has been quite and peaceful and I love getting my much needed steps in 🙂
Every city needs to more of this. Make more green spaces. This is cute trail around the pond with fountain & sculture~ Lots of trees, river birches, evergreen bushes & trees. Part shade, part sun. Saw a groundhog scurry from the top of the hill.
Great park not too crowded or noisy not a lot of shade at all But quiet and small.
Quiet space in the middle of the of the busy comute on Bland Blvd. Just about a mile around a man made lake and in the summer time fountain. Parking isn't noticeable business close by called Stone Quarry you can park in the lot and walk to the park. Great place to walk my 2 little dogs and for them it's rewarding.
