Confirmed from Chester Creek Hiking Trails Hub's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring waterfalls, hiking trails and a creek, plus scenery.
What runners say about Chester Creek Hiking Trails Hub
“Beautiful year round (can be crowded on nice afternoons and weekends in the summer), but my favorite time to experience it is actually after a decent snowfall.”
“Wintertime is quiet and peaceful with plenty of traffic to keep a packed trail.”
“The falls are just a short easy walk back and there are a lot of fun rocky areas to climb around on!”
New favorite place to hike in Duluth! We got a "quick" hour long hike in and didn't do the entire trail. Not sure of the length since we didn't go the whole route. There are several places to cross the creek so you can make your loop a variety of lengths. Very pretty scenery with rocks and elevation changes.
This local favorite is one of the best urban trails anywhere. Right in the middle of the Hillside Neighborhood, Chester Creek drops over numerous cascades, chutes, and falls with a pair of hiking trails on either side. The gravel and clay trail is meticulously maintained but still has rocks and roots to watch out for.
What a fun stop right in Duluth. It needs to be a little better marked which way to head for falls, but it's definitely worth the shirt 10-15 minute hike to see the different falls. Super pretty!
Very nice hiking trail with a nice stream flowing through a good portion of it. Definitely a little more challenging if you're not used to walking up and down hills. The trails are mostly gravel and rocks so bring some good shoes. Plenty of options for biking and/or hiking.
