We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Chumbley Woods Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Chumbley Woods Trail
“There is a short assent and descent which is a good heart pumper but otherwise it's a pretty easy trail and the scenery is worth it.”
The main upper trail is nice and wide for easy walking. There is a loop trail up top that connects both ends to the main trail and one at the bottom of the hill as well that goes along the river and creek. The bottom can get muddy after a good rain.
What a pleasant hike! There is a short assent and descent which is a good heart pumper but otherwise it's a pretty easy trail and the scenery is worth it. Lots of deer here to observe.
Parking lot for ~8-10. Map at trailhead. Glass shards throughout trail, fyi for dogs or other unguarded feet. Has river access. Cool 3D printed blazes on Eagle trail.
