Confirmed from Fred Deadman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Wonderful park for the whole family. Playground, tennis courts, ball fields, exercise center, walking trails. Picnic area. Bring fido on a leash.

Great city park! You can definitely tell the city has put money and effort into this park. Paved path along the little duck river with benches. It has a nice covered pavilion with tables. Two playgrounds, one for the smaller and one for the bigger kids. Workout area, skate park, and baseball fields galore!

Always very clean , great play ground for kids , skate park, beautiful walking trail, baseball fields and a workout area....

★★★★☆ — Boujee , Apr 2023

This park is my favorite to take my daughter to because it is very toddler friendly. She is 2 and there is equipment very suitable for her age. There is also stuff for older kids. There is also a really nice paved walking trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 6 mentions

“I made a long drive back and forth to Huntsville to explore one of the waterfalls near me but the weather changed suddenly on my way back so I decided to stop here for a rest.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
